The Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia is proud to announce the launch of its latest exhibition, Collaborations. Opening on Thursday, May 16, this captivating exhibit celebrates the rich tradition of collaboration within the folk pottery community. For generations, folk potters have thrived on the bonds of kinship and camaraderie, with familial ties serving as the cornerstone of many traditional potteries. Collaborations pays homage to this enduring legacy by spotlighting pottery pieces that bear the collective imprint of more than one maker. Parents, husbands, wives, siblings, cousins, and neighbors - their collective efforts breathed life into the clay, resulting in works of art that transcend individual boundaries. From the blending of skills to create unique pieces, to the crafting of commemorative works, and the passing down of techniques from elder potters to the new generation, each piece on display narrates a story of shared creativity and craftsmanship. "We are thrilled to present Collaborations to our visitors," said Emily DeFoor, Director of the Folk Pottery Museum. "This exhibition not only showcases the beauty and diversity of folk pottery but also celebrates the spirit of collaboration that has defined this vibrant community for generations. It's a testament to the power of working together." Collaborations promises to be a fascinating journey into the heart and soul of folk pottery, offering visitors a unique opportunity to witness the magic that unfolds when potters come together in harmony. Don't miss your chance to experience this extraordinary exhibition at the Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia.

A 14-time Grammy winner and Billboard Century Award recipient, Emmylou Harris' contribution as a singer and songwriter spans 40 years. She has recorded more than 25 albums and has lent her talents to countless fellow artists' recordings. In recognition of her remarkable career, Harris was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and earned a Grammy Lifetime Achievement award in 2018. Harris is known as much for her eloquently straightforward songwriting as for her incomparably expressive singing. Admired through her career for her talent as an artist and song connoisseur, Harris shook up country radio in the 1970s, and established herself as the premiere songwriter of a generation selling more than 15 million records and garnering 14 Grammy Awards, three CMA Awards, and four Americana Awards. Harris is one of the most admired and influential women in music. She has recorded with such diverse artists as Linda Ronstadt, Daniel Lanois, Bob Dylan, Mark Knopfler, Neil Young, Gram Parsons, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Roy Orbison, Ryan Adams, Beck, Elvis Costello, Johnny Cash, Lucinda Williams, Lyle Lovett and Rodney Crowell. Few artists have achieved such honesty or have revealed such maturity in their writing. Forty years into her career, Harris continues to share the hard-earned wisdom that—hopefully if not inevitably—comes with getting older, though she's never stopped looking ahead. A longtime social activist, Harris has lent her voice to many causes. Most passionately to animal welfare. In 2004 she established Bonaparte's Retreat with the goal of rescuing shelter dogs and adopting them into forever homes. To this day, Bonaparte's Retreat continues to save dogs most in need at Metro Nashville Animal Care and Control and at municipal shelters in surrounding counties.

In the madcap comedy tradition of Lend Me a Tenor, the hilarious Moon Over Buffalo centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950s. At the moment, they’re playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in rep in Buffalo, New York with five actors. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George’s dalliance with a young ingénue, they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if he likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does go wrong, abetted by a visit from their daughter’s clueless fiancé and hilarious uncertainty about which play they’re actually performing, caused by Charlotte’s deaf, old stage-manager mother who hates every bone in George’s body.
This is the story of what happened in the hotel room next to the hotel room where Ann (played in the 1933 movie by Fay Wray) was whisked out of the bed and into the Manhattan night by King Kong. There’s always a backstory! Myron Siegel is a low-end Broadway producer who desperately wants to be high end. Trouble is, he has, for his entire career, been sabotaged by his arch rival, who is ultra-famous for making movies about scary jungle creatures. That producer’s father and Myron’s father were also rivals back in the day, and the legacy has lived on. As the play opens, Myron has just learned that the rival producer has booked a theatre directly across from the theatre where Myron’s potential bonanza, Foxy Felicia, is about to open. Nobody on the rialto knows what he’s up to, but it’s big. It’s BIG! Myron gathers his entourage—his sassy mother, his gangster henchman, his Hungarian backer and his wide-eyed niece straight off the bus from Buffalo—and concocts a plan to find out what the mystery show is all about. What he discovers is that the show is about a monkey. A very large monkey. He also learns that the rival is sleeping with his wife and plans to steal both her and Foxy Felicia away from Myron. As the story unfolds, the seven doors on the set fly open and slam shut constantly. There are also mistaken identity, pies in the face, deceit, underhandedness and even a couple of romances. And every moment is meticulously coordinated with the events depicted in the 1933 movie!!!

When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth (the butler), Miss Scarlett, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock, and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. Clue is the comedy whodunit that will leave both cult-fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out…WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT!

It's alive! The electrifying adaptation of Mel Brooks' monstrously funny film will leave you in stitches. From the creators of the record-breaking Broadway sensation, The Producers, comes this monster new musical come-dy. The comedy genius, Mel Brooks, adapts his legendarily funny film into a brilliant stage creation – Young Franken-stein! Transylvania Heights, 1934: Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced "Fronk-en-steen") inherits his family's estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchback sidekick, Igor (pronounced "Eye-gore"), and a leggy lab assistant, Inga (pronounced normally), Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. "It's alive!" he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather's. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abounds. Every bit as relevant to audience members who will remember the original as it will be to newcomers, Young Franken-stein has all of the panache of the screen sensation with a little extra theatrical flair added. With such memorable tunes as "The Transylvania Mania," "He Vas My Boyfriend" and "Puttin' on the Ritz," Young Frankenstein is scientifically prov-en, monstrously good entertainment.

Featuring a mix of gritty backwoods soul, rock ‘n' roll swagger and velvet-thunder vocals, Nate Smith's personal journey inspired him to be a beacon of country-music hope, an inspirational mission he puts front-and-center. A California native, former worship leader, and lifelong music lover, Smith approaches that mission with a background as eclectic as it gets. Learning guitar at 13, Garth Brooks, Elvis Presley and Bob Seger were among those informing his powerful, fire-from-within vocals, while Michael Jackson made him crave the spotlight and Nirvana gave his sound a jagged edge. In 2018, Smith lost everything he owned in the devastating Camp Fire which tore through Paradise, California, now known as the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in the state's history. Although his family was safe, he struggled to cope and turned back to music, hoping that it would help comfort himself and others. Help it did, inspiring a month-long road trip across the U.S. to Music City, writing music and playing dive bars along the way. Since making it to Nashville, the singer's “powerhouse tenor” has become “perhaps country music's fastest-rising beloved voice” (The Tennessean). He's made a huge splash with songs such as his Platinum-certified multi-week No. 1 hit “Whiskey On You,” which was lauded as the “breakup song of the summer” by Country Now and “an enormously satisfying country kiss-off anthem” by Stereogum. The smash hit has racked up over 405 million total global on-demand streams to date, contributing to Nate's billion total catalog streams globally. Nate released his debut, self-titled album along with the deluxe version on April 28. The hefty 26-song project hit #6 on Billboard's Country album charts and #30 on the Billboard Top 200. His latest single off the album, “World On Fire,” is currently Top 5 and climbing at country radio.

Over the last two decades, Sarah Evans has carved a successful career anchored by her insightful songwriting and warm, evocative voice. With such enduring hits as “Suds in the Bucket,” “A Real Fine Place to Start,” “Perfect” and “A Little Bit Stronger,” she's earned recognition as the fifth most played female artist at country radio and continues to be a force on the road with tour dates criss-crossing the country. For her ninth studio album titled "Copy That", the Missouri native serves up an eclectic bounty of songs that have shaped her life and storied career. Little Big Town's Phillip Sweet joins Evans for a buoyant rendition of the Stevie Nicks and Kenny Loggins classic “Whenever I Call You Friend” and Old Crow Medicine Show adds their unique flavor to the Hank Williams standard “I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry.” Her cover of Dexy's Midnight Runners' 1982 hit “Come On Eileen” is absolutely infectious and her pulsating rendition of The Knack's “My Sharona” shows a rockin' side of Evans rarely heard.

Thaddeus Erdahl and Stephanie Stuefer met while pursuing their MFA degrees at the University of Florida. Thaddeus is currently a devoted studio artist, teaching workshops across the country, and showing work nationally and internationally. Deeply inspired by his father's art, Thaddeus’ work speaks of the interconnectedness of past and present and the beauty found in the passage of time. It captures erosion and growth in a single piece, inviting viewers to contemplate the enigmatic nature of life itself. Stephanie has worked with clay as both a sculptural medium and utilitarian material. Her current utilitarian body of work was originally designed for her husband’s coffee roasting venture, Zagg’s Coffee. The “zig zag” lines of the mug forms set into motion a broader body of work for this show.

Mac Arnold’s musical journey reads like a legendary odyssey through blues and soul history. Beginning with a high school band that included James Brown on piano, he swiftly moved to Chicago, where Muddy Waters recognized his talent instantly. Joining Waters' band, Arnold contributed to defining the electric blues sound of the late '60s and early '70s. Alongside this, he recorded with icons like Otis Spann and John Lee Hooker.Transitioning to Los Angeles, Arnold ventured into television, producing Soul Train and even performing on Sanford & Son. His hiatus from showbiz led him to organic farming before returning to his musical roots in South Carolina. Now, based in Pelzer, he fronts "Mac Arnold & Plate Full O’ Blues," serving up a soulful mix of blues and funk. With a stellar lineup including Austin Brashier, Max Hightower, Rick Latham, and Mike Frost, Arnold continues to carve his legacy in the annals of blues history.

Two sisters and a dog live out their lives on the bleak English moors, dreaming of love and power. The arrival of a hapless governess and a moor-hen set all three on a strange and dangerous path. The Moors is a dark comedy about love, desperation, and visibility, a satirical take on the Brontë sisters' gothic musings. It tells the story of a governess who arrives at a remote manor after exchanging correspondence with a mysterious man, but finds no one there except his two sisters, a maid, and a dog. The play explores themes of love, identity, power, and toxic relationships, and some say it reveals important social and sexual politics for women in the United States. Rated PG-13, contains sexual themes and potential simulated violence. Viewer discretion is advised.

Mortimer rushes to tell Abby and Martha before they stumble upon the body themselves, only to learn that the two old women aren’t just aware of the dead man in their parlor, they killed him! Between his aunts’ penchant for poisoning wine, a brother who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt, and another brother using plastic surgery to hide from the police—not to mention Mortimer’s own hesitancy about marriage—it’ll be a miracle if Mortimer makes it to his wedding. Arsenic and Old Lace is a classic black comedy about the only thing more deadly than poison: family.
