Parton Me! A Tribute to Dolly with Katie Deal and her Nashville Band

“Parton Me!” You do NOT want to miss this! Generously sponsored by Gus Arrendale and Springer Mountain Farms, “Parton Me!” A Dolly Tribute Concert with Katie Deal is Saturday, September 14th from 5:00pm - 7:00pm in the Arrendale Amphitheater. Tickets are $35 for covered seating and $25 for uncovered seating. All proceeds go toward the Friends of the Arts fund, which helps provide Piedmont's Fine Arts students with a robust academic experience. Join Piedmont Alumni Katie Deal and her Nashville Band for a joyful, nostalgic and folksy tribute to one of the queens of country, Dolly Parton. Audrey Davenport

Swanson Center for Performing Arts & Communications 365 College Dr.

A native of Cornelia, Davenport is the curator and president of the Regional African American Museum of Northeast Georgia. She served as executive director of the Habersham County Historical Society for seven years and spearheaded the creation of the City Cornelia’s first mural. This self-portrait will introduce visitors to Davenport’s many contributions. The new Audrey Davenport Endowed Scholarship honors her exemplary community leadership.

Under the direction of Bobby Ivey, Director of Choirs, the Piedmont University Singers perform a variety of choral works from the Renaissance to the present. Highlights will include selections featuring our Organ Artist in Residence, Louise Bass.

Piedmont String Orchestra

Piedmont University String Orchestra, in its fourth year under the direction of Heather Strachan, combines players from the community and the university in the performance of significant works for string orchestra.

Piedmont Wind Ensemble

The Piedmont University Wind Ensemble combines Piedmont instrumental students and members of the community in performance of works for concert band. Dr. Emery C. Warnock, conductor.

36th Annual Service of Lessons & Carols

Now in its 36th year, the Annual Service of Lessons and Carols is one of the region’s most beloved events celebrating Christmas. The Piedmont Chorale, Brass Choir, the Sewell Organ, and the Chestatee High School Chorus, are featured in this special program of readings, carols, and choir anthems to begin the Christmas season. Bobby Ivey and Lisa Bassett, conductors. Admission fee required. Tickets will be available October 25.
