Adapted by Dwayne Harford from Kate
DiCamillo’s beloved novel, The Miraculous
Journey of Edward Tulane is more than a
children’s story—it’s a profound exploration of
love, loss, and emotional awakening, brought
to life by an intimate ensemble of actors and
musicians. Edward, a porcelain rabbit once
too vain to love, is cast adrift—literally and
figuratively—on a journey through the hands and
hearts of strangers. Though he cannot move
or speak, Edward becomes a silent witness to
grief, resilience, and hope, ultimately discovering
the courage to love again. The play’s emotional
depth and minimalist storytelling offer a rare
opportunity for audiences to reflect on empathy
and transformation in a world that often rushes
past both. This all-ages show is brought to you
by The Fred Register Endowment for Children’s
Theatre at Young Harris College.
