Anna Jensen and Kevn Kinney: Concert & Art Exhibition
Opening Reception time is TBD Anna Jensen's paintings are a synthesis of classical and abstract figuration. Her body of work is inspired by both trauma and exaltation. They are the fruit of years of rigorous research conducted in her home of the American South. With immense drive and rare sensitivity, Anna demonstrates the power of an individual to prevail through challenges via creative transfiguration. She is mostly self-taught yet has exhibited internationally to great acclaim over the past nearly twenty years. “My paintings are psychological landscapes and emotionally complex narratives. I combine references to art history, pop culture, natural science and personal chronicles to represent the conflicts of life. The titles are important elements. Like me the stories are at once funny and sad.” Her husband, highly acclaimed singer-songwriter Kevn Kinney, is most widely known as founder and frontman of Atlanta-based rock band Drivin N Cryin. He was recently inducted into both the Wisconsin Music Hall of Fame and Georgia Music Hall of Fame for his impactful legacy. Also, an accomplished poet, painter, and solo musician, Kinney has released multiple critically acclaimed recordings during his career having collaborated with R.E.M., Indigo Girls, the Who, and Warren Haynes among many others.
John Cleaveland Art Exhibition
John L. Cleaveland, Jr. received his BFA from the University of Georgia and held a Graduate Assistantship in the UGA Studies Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy. He has exhibited his work at the Huntsville Museum of Art, the Albany Museum of Art, Blue Spiral 1 Gallery, University of Georgia, Madison Morgan Cultural Center, Lyndon House Art Center, and the Missouri State Botanical Gardens. His paintings are in the permanent collections of the Asheville Art Museum, the UGA State Botanical Garden of Georgia, the Combat Art Collection at the U.S. Marine Corps Museum, the Morris Museum of Art, 3-M Company, Bessemer Trust, and the Alabama Power Company. “My paintings are specific expressions of places I’ve been to that I love that I’m connected to, or that I’m pushed to some expression by. I’m not necessarily looking for a thing so much as I’m looking for a feeling — something that might tell a greater truth but in a very simple way.”

Northeast Georgia Arts Tour
Discover original works of art made by regional artists in our charming shops, galleries, and studios. Explore painters, potters, jewelry makers, fiber, glass, metal artists and more along our self-guided, year round Northeast Georgia Arts Tour.
Rising in Fire Exhibit
Rising in Fire brings together the work of 14 accomplished Georgia artists who are carrying forward the demanding and dynamic tradition of wood-fired ceramics. The featured potters include: Allen Gee, Liz Bloodgood, Esther Mech, Geoff Pickett, Joel Huff, Jon Brinley, Kyle Jones, Linda Suskin, Rebecca Wood, Rick Berman, Roger Jamison, Ron Myers, Stephen Hawks, and Zuzka Vaclavik. The exhibit highlights the wide range of wood-firing techniques practiced across the state, from Japanese-inspired Anagama and Noborigama kilns to the regional Tunnel and Groundhog kilns that have long defined pottery traditions in the American South. Alongside the ceramic works themselves, educational panels will help visitors understand the unique processes, kiln designs, and elemental forces—earth, fire, and air—that shape each piece. “Wood-firing is both an ancient and an evolving art,” said Emily DeFoor, Museum Director. “This exhibit celebrates the skill, experimentation, and resilience of contemporary Georgia potters who continue to rise to the challenge of this demanding process, producing works of incredible depth, character, and beauty.” The opening reception on September 26th 5:00-7:00pm will offer visitors the opportunity to meet several of the exhibiting artists, enjoy light refreshments, and experience firsthand the power and diversity of wood-fired pottery.

Join us at Lucky's for live music with James Patrick Morgan! He's back at Lucky's - and trust us, you don't want to miss him. He'll be playing from 6-9pm! Also, don't miss out on the BOGO tacos - all day, when you dine in. When you wake up and want to put a smile on your face, you think of the songs that always manage to reach down and touch your soul the moment you hear the first note. The Marshall Tucker Band is one such group that continues to have a profound level of impact on successive generations of listeners who've been "Searchin' for a Rainbow" and found it perfectly represented by this tried-and-true Southern institution over the decades. The Marshall Tucker Band came together as a young, hungry, and quite driven six-piece outfit in Spartanburg, South Carolina in 1972, having duly baptized themselves with the name of a blind piano tuner after they found it inscribed on a key to their original rehearsal space — and they've been in tune with tearing it up on live stages both big and small all across the globe ever since. Plus, the band's mighty music catalog, consisting of more than 20 studio albums and a score of live releases, has racked up multi-platinum album sales many times over. A typically rich MTB setlist is bubbling over with a healthy dose of hits like the heartfelt singalong “Heard It in a Love Song,” the insistent pleading of “Can't You See” (the signature tune of MTB's late co-founding lead guitarist and then-principal songwriter Toy Caldwell), the testifying “Fire on the Mountain,” the wanderlust gallop of “Long Hard Ride,” and the explosive testimony of “Ramblin,'” to name but a few. Special Guest: Hunter Flynn Some folks sing like they're trying to impress you. Others sing like they've got something on their heart they have to get out. Hunter Flynn falls in that second camp—and it's exactly why he stops people in their tracks. Flynn's from Pulaski County, Kentucky. But more than that—he's from somewhere deeper. Somewhere between grit and grace, sorrow and soul. He calls what he does Appalachian Soul, and I'm not sure there's a better name for it. His voice has the weight of someone who's lived through something—and he has. He walked away from a near-fatal wreck with a second chance, and since then, he's poured his entire being into music and art. He's not afraid to sing about grief, longing, or hope that comes in small doses. You'll hear that in songs like “Granny's Song” or “East Kentucky Dream.” But what really sets Hunter apart isn't just what he sings—it's how he carries it. There's no pretending. No polish for the sake of polish. Just real stories, told the way they're meant to be. He's also one of the most talented visual artists I've seen—his charcoal portraits look like they could breathe. And in a way, they do. Just like his songs, they come from a place most people never let you see. Hunter Flynn doesn't sound like anyone else. He sounds like a holler remembering. Like pain being worked through. Like a promise that the light will come, even if it's slow. If you're from here, you'll feel it like a memory. If [...]
