Strut Your Stuff at the Blue Ridge Turkey Trot! Thanksgiving morning just got a whole lot more exciting! Gather your family, lace up your running shoes, and join us for the Blue Ridge Turkey Trot — the perfect way to kick off your holiday festivities! What to Expect: A fun 5K for all fitness levels (run, walk, or strut your way to the finish line!) Fun downtown run with all the train feels Family-friendly vibes and a chance to burn those calories before the feast A keepsake Turkey Trot T-shirt (because who doesn’t love swag?) Date: Thanksgiving Morning Time: 8am race starts (get there no later than 7:30am) Location: Downtown Blue Ridge Play Park Don’t miss this annual tradition that brings the community together for fitness, fun, and a little pre-turkey competition. Whether you’re in it for the exercise, the camaraderie, or the bragging rights, the Blue Ridge Turkey Trot is THE place to be. The race is for all abilities, from walkers to the serious competitor. Stroll through The Arts Center to explore the enchanted Gingerbread Village and admire 65 impressive gingerbread creations created by members of the community. Before you leave be sure to vote for your favorite gingerbread house and check out the Holiday Show & Sale to shop for unique, handmade holiday gifts. Leave a Letter in Santa’s Mailbox! Make a stop at Santa's Mailbox, where children can write a letter to Santa and, in return, receive a handwritten reply in the mail a few days later. Habitat for Humanity will be there from 12-5 both Friday and Saturday to help any child that needs help to write their letter to Santa. Enjoy Live Entertainment! Listen, dance and sing along to your favorite Christmas songs performed by a variety of local musicians throughout the event.
